Dedicated to the Gaelic Language of the Isle of Man
Mooinjer Veggey

Mooinjer Veggey is an educational charity which exists to promote the knowledge and use of Manx Gaelic among young people. Established in 1996, it currently runs Possan Cloie, two nurseries, and supports the Bunscoill Ghaelgagh. Their aim is to provide education with or through the Manx language, giving children the advantages of learning a second language at an early age.

Possan Cloie is a parents and tots group in which children and parents learn and use Manx language through activities, songs and rhymes. It meets in St. Johns on Monday mornings during term time.

Mooinjer Veggey Nurseries operate in Braddan and St. John's during term time, and cater for two to five year olds. They are registered with the Isle of Man Department of Health and Social Care and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum encouraging learning through play. Children learn Manx Gaelic through songs and rhymes and by using limited but regular Manx words and phrases in daily routines.

Mooinjer Veggey provides support to the Bunscoill Ghaelgagh - the world's only Manx medium primary school - and it also chairs the governing body of the school. The Bunscoill Ghaelgagh is run by the Department of Education, Sport and Culture and the curriculum is taught entirely through Manx.
